...that said, I did submit two chapters to my writers' group and I will be hearing their views on Wednesday.
I finished my Christmas story for the Festive Cheer anthology currently being compiled by Heide and Iain. This will feature the works of over a dozen authors and will be launched in the run-up to Christmas. It will completely steal the thunder away from the John Lewis advert!
I am very excited about the promotional activity surrounding this anthology. I am hoping for another Circ experience in which I get to collaborate with another group of lovely and talented writers. Authors assemble!
Speaking of which, I attended the book launch for The Vodka Trail last week, the latest thriller by author AA Abbott. It was a hugely enjoyable evening and strengthened my resolve to host my own book launch once I have a third Nephos novel to my name.
My last authorial iron in the fire was a last-minute submission to Tall Tales, a show on Brum Radio which broadcasts the work of local authors. I sent in three stories, one of which, The Queen of Hearts, is the opening story in Breadcrumbs.
Also, I have just finished reading Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. It was awesome. I didn't expect another Harry Potter adventure to work, especially set 19 years after The Deathly Hallows, but it was brilliant and perfectly captured the magic of the original seven without straying into predictable homage. It is actually fiendishly complicated with lots of timey-wimey trickery. I have no idea how they are performing this on stage!
